Taylor Swift, full Taylor Alison Swift. American singer/songwriter who's achieved huge fame with the stories she tells of her young heartbreak. Swift was interested in music at an early stage of her life. She quickly moved up the ranks, beginning with roles in children's theater and then performing before a large crowd. In 2011, Swift aged 11 at the time, performed The Star-Spangled Banner during a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. In the year following, Swift began writing songs of her own. Swift created original music which was influenced by country artists such as Shania Twain (now known as the Chicks), and Dixie Chicks. Her material was a reflection of Swift's experiences as a tween being apathetic. Swift was only thirteen when her parents made the decision to dispose of their Pennsylvania farm and move to Hendersonville Tennessee. She could spend all of her efforts to contacting label labels from the country scene in Nashville.
